This manual Mercedes-Benz 190E was assembled in South Africa and first registered in the UK in 15th January 1999. We sold it to its current keeper in 2020 and the MOT is valid until 23rd May next year. According to the original invoice, included in the sale, the car was specified from new with Almandine metallic paint, alarm and Becker Le Mans radio/tape player. Equipment also includes electric windows, central locking and air conditioning (which isn't blowing as cool as it might).
Back in 2007 the car was a Category C insurance loss. Since then it's spent time under the ownership of the editor of Mercedes Enthusiast magazine. We're advised that a second-hand instrument binnacle was fitted in 2011, so the true odometer reading should be 110,576 miles rather than the indicated 98,098. The car has also had a recent respray and a new battery.
This 190E comes with a large collection of receipts going back at least as far as 2002, plus the owner's book pack, tax discs, and a 2017 edition of Mercedes Enthusiast magazine featuring some work done to this car's sills and rear jacking points.
