This 1954 Morgan Plus 4 two-passenger roadster was dispatched to Cavalier Motors of Los Angeles, California, in April 1954, and it was refurbished at some point before the previous owner purchased the vehicle in 2004. The car was shipped to Japan in 2008 and participated in the East Nippon Grand Touring event, which was hosted by the Morgan Club Nippon. Upon returning to the United States, the Morgan is said to have been driven sparingly through 2013 and was then placed into storage. Since obtaining the car, we have renewed the fuel system, cleaned carburators, spark plugs, fuel tank, refreshed transmission, all new wheel cylinders, and a new master cylinder and battery.
Powered by a replacement 1,991cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the car is finished in two-tone blue over black leather. Equipment includes a black soft top, a tonneau cover, 16″ steel wheels, hubcaps, dual spare wheels and tires, dual SU carburetors, louvered hood panels, a wood dashboard, a Bluemels Brooklands steering wheel, and seatbelts. The car comes with the Morgan Motor Company Chassis Record and a tool kit.
Finished from the factory in a non-standard shade of cream, the car was repainted in two-tone metallic blue prior to 2004. Features include a black soft top, a black tonneau cover, a badge bar, a single Lucas driving light, louvered hood panels, fender-mounted side mirrors, wind wings, running boards, a flip-up fuel cap, and chrome bumpers.
A decal from the aforementioned 2008 East Nippon Grand Touring event is applied to the right-side hood panel. Badges from the 1980s car shows in Pennsylvania are affixed to the engine compartment.
The Bluemels Brooklands steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation, including a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 110-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 37596 miles.
The Morgan Motor Company Chassis Record shows factory colors and equipment, and the document indicates that the car was dispatched to Cavalier Motors on April 12, 1954.
The car is located in our indoor facility 25 miles east of downtown Nashville Tn. Independent inspections by a marque specialist are encouraged and welcomed.
